Beach Girls Rock for 5th Grade Girls
The second Beach Girls Rock! empowerment series to be held at First Colonial High School on Saturday, January 27, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. The theme, “Strong Mind, Strong Body” will be exemplified through student breakout sessions to include art therapy, Pilates, Zumba, healthy snacks & recipes, Legal Studies Academy presentation, Virginia High School League (VHSL) awareness & healthy body image. We highly encourage girls to dress comfortably with tennis shoes due to the physical activities during the breakout sessions.
Please be aware of any food allergies of students due to potential exposure to nuts or other food allergens during student breakout sessions. We welcome parents to attend the event as well. Parent breakout sessions will include information on cyber safety, establishing healthy eating goals, Virginia High School League (VHSL) awareness, Advanced Technology Center presentation, and the Legal Studies Academy presentation.
The keynote speaker for the event is Nicole Kosmas, the first female member of the Virginia Beach Police Department, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team. She will share with our young girls the importance of setting goals and how to achieve your goals, not matter the obstacles.
Students may register by filling out the registration form attached.
All registration forms are due to Mrs. Nichols by January 19, 2018.
