#LikeaChampion!
Parent Bulletin 9/17/2021
Dear Students, Parents, and Community,
Our staff is here is to help our students reach their potential. When this happens, our students succeed and we succeed. We had our first great example of this success last week:
- Our LVHS Student Council was recognized as an Outstanding Student Council by the Texas Association of Student Councils!
- Our cross country teams competed in Bandera on Saturday and won the the following honors: Varsity Girls Fifth Place; Varsity Boys Second Place; JV Girls Second Place; JV Boys Second Place!
- On Friday, our freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball teams swept Bandera!
- Our varsity football team had a strong win over La Grange to wrap up homecoming week!
A special thank you to our students, parents, and Mrs. Land for all of the hard work to make sure our homecoming celebrations were a great success! Thank you to you all for making sure our students were successful inside and outside of the classroom. All of this success was the result of lots of work by our kids and great teaching and coaching by our staff--with a focus on constant improvement. More importantly, multiple students had personal best performances in all of our victories. Zig Ziglar states: "Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is not the doing, not the getting; in the trying, not the triumph. Success is a personal standard, reaching for the highest that is in us, becoming all that we can be."
This is the time of year to condition our students to do their best and focus on their growth while we do the same thing. As a campus team, we continue to focus on "progress over performance." When we live this motto, we set our students up to do great things; and, we teach them the value of self improvement and focusing on what is in their control. Those two concepts are important life lessons.
Thank you for making LVHS a great place for students!
