The Grover

All Things Beech Grove High School

What is The Grover?

The Grover is a newsletter for "all things Beech Grove High School". The name actually comes from the nickname of Beech Grove High School's own live mascot, Grover. If this is going to be a newsletter of "all things Beech Grove High School" it seems only right that it starts with the Hornet.

The newsletter itself is for anything that you have going on as it relates to your classroom, your extra- and co-curricular organizations, your teams, or anything else in the high school. We want to publicize and promote it for you. We hope you enjoy this first edition and please do not hesitate to let me know how we can spread the word regarding all things Beech Grove High School.

Lady Hornets Basketball News

On Saturday January 31st, five senior girls will be celebrating their final home basketball at Beech Grove. Jessica Benamon, Sydney Bonds, Bre Hurt, McKenzie Marschke, and Olivia Woodall will be honored for all their hard work and dedication to Beech Grove basketball. These young ladies will honored between the JV and Varsity vs. Lutheran. The JV game starts at 6:00pm and Senior Night with start roughly at 7:00pm.

The Lady Hornets basketball also team recently traveled to New Castle to take on the Trojans and visit the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. New Castle houses "the world's largest high school gym". While the outcome of the game was not what the Hornets had hoped for, the visit to the Hall of Fame helped make up for it. The team learned about the history of Indiana basketball and was able to view artifacts from 2003 Lady Hornets State Basketball Championship team. Head Coach Mark Parker and JV Head Coach Emily Ringham was able to share with the girls their State Championship experience as a member of that team. Coach Parker was an Assistant Coach for that team and Coach Ringham was a guard on that team.
