Happy New Year RHS families & community
Welcome back to the second half of the 2019-20 year!
As we know all too well, this half tends to fly! In a few short weeks we will be approaching
exams, new classes and a variety of athletic/academic and musical competitions.
As we prepare for the winter session we want to encourage our students to finish the first semester strong and transition into second semester with a refreshed and positive mindset. Mindset is an individual's attitude surrounding how one thinks and what one believes. A positive mindset is critical when addressing and persevering through life's many challenges.
As parents and family members, help your child identify realistic and relevant goals that target success for the end of semester one and/or the transition to semester two.
These discussions can prove to be powerful tools for improving behaviors, academics, or life overall. As a family share these goals, encourage resilience to persevere if the challenge is difficult, and always stop to celebrate milestones. They are precious and so deserving of recognition.
To each of you, we the RHS faculty and staff welcome you to 2020!
We are eager to support your child's resolutions and academic success.
We look forward to seeing each of you at these wonderful events! If you have any questions, please contact RHS main office at 860-870-6050

Message From The School Counseling Department
Good Morning Seniors,
As we are now a few days away from December Break, the School Counseling Department wanted to send a few quick reminders:
- If you have any January 1 application deadlines, please be sure to see your school counselor ASAP.
- If you have not done so already, consider filling out the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and CSS Profile (www.cssprofile.org). NOTE that the CSS Profile is not required by all colleges.
- Research and apply for scholarships. Be sure to check your Naviance account as it is updated as scholarship opportunities become available.
- After applying, as you check your application status online, please be sure to notify your school counselor if your college is looking for Q1 grades for senior year.
- If you have not yet submitted your Transcript Release Form to your school counselor, please do so ASAP. A blank copy of this form is attached to this email.
Have a good day,
RHS School Counseling Department
