Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of March 27, 2022
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Greetings,
It’s hard to believe we have begun April and that’s no fooling you!!
I would like to send a shout out to Ms. Dilks and Ms. Florido who met with our English Language Learner (ELL) students on March 24. The purpose of the meeting was preparing the students for college and life after high school. It was a great way for our students to understand the opportunities they have ahead of them. I am sure they will do great things!
Another big shout out to Ms. Willson for setting up incredible opportunities for the PACE students to get hands-on experiences outside of school. The program has taken and continues to take students to the NJMEP (New Jersey Manufacturing Education Program) where they have hands-on experiences and learn about manufacturing opportunities. This week students attended on March 28, 29 and 30.
On Thursday, March 31, our Unified Sports Program hosted Cedar Creek High School unified team in a great game of basketball! Our students were amazing! Of course we won, but all students had a great experience. Our student body filled the stands with cheers and posters of encouragement. It was a great thing to experience and be a part of! Thanks to the teachers and aides who worked hard with our students to make them successful!
Until next week, have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms. Connor

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Students of the Week
Nominee: Hayley Henderson
Nominated by: Shana Dickerson
Haley is always helpful , kind, and ready to work. She recently gave up her whole day to help present the medical science program to the 8th graders and really went above and beyond to explain the program to them. She is very deserving of recognition and continues to persevere in her school work, sports and anything that comes her way.
Nominee: Morgan Vogt
Nominated by: Jennifer DiMaio
Morgan demonstrates such a wonderful work ethic in Honors Algebra II! She truly understands the value of hard work and perseveres when the material is challenging or her comprehension is not immediate. She accepts responsibility for her academic progress and takes the initiative to seek assistance when necessary. Morgan is a true role model when it comes to perseverance!

The High School has adopted a new bullying-prevention program for this school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams. We even have 3 of our own students who were selected by the foundation as leaders for this initiative!
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.
This notion is called being an #Upstander.
Has your student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
