End of Semester - 3 Weeks Away

This time of year is always filled with activities both in and out of school. It is important to stay focused over the next 3 weeks. Our semester will end on Friday, Dec. 17th. Exams will be held as follows:

Thursday, Dec. 16th - Hours 1, 2 and 3

Friday, Dec. 17th - Hours 4, 5 and 6

You can help your child by making sure that they are staying up on their class work and preparing for exams over the next few weeks.

Go Green!

Our next Go Green Activity will be the opportunity to watch a Christmas movie in the Auditorium on Dec. 10th. Students will have an opportunity to vote on the movie that they want to watch!

All Missing Assignments will be due on Wednesday, December 8th in order to qualify.

Holiday Dress Up Days - Week of 12/13

Our Junior High Student Council Group is sponsoring Holiday themed Dress-up Days prior to Christmas Break. The days are as follows:

Monday 12/13 - Pajama Day

Tuesday 12/14 - Christmas in July (Hawaiian Shirts, Vacation Vibe clothes)

Wednesday 12/15 - Ugly Christmas Sweater Day

Due to exams, we will not have Dress up Days on Thursday and Friday. Remember the dress code still applies on Dress up Days.

Pilot's Club with Mr. Renfro

Mr. Renfro our new Social Studies teacher has graciously offered to provide time after school for a new club. Mr. Renfro is multi-talented and one of many that he is sharing with us is his love of flying drones. If your student is interested in participating a permission slip with additional information is attached here.

Please note that Pilot's club will be held on Tuesday's after school until 4:30 in Mr. Renfro's room.

Student Illness

Just a reminder to please keep your child home if they are exhibiting any of the following symptoms as laid out in our Return to Learn Plan.

Students exhibiting the following symptoms which are strong indicators of COVID-19 shall remain home or excluded from school for 10 days unless a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note stating the student may return to school is provided to school authorities.

● Fever (temp over 100.4) or feeling feverish/chills

● Cough

● Sore throat

● Runny or stuffy nose (congestion)

● Muscle or body aches

● Headaches

● Fatigue (tiredness)

● Vomiting and diarrhea

● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

● New loss of taste or smell

This Week in Second Step Lessons

Every week when we conduct a new lesson, we will let families know what is covered so that you can continue to support the initiative from home.

Topics this Week

6th Graders will create bullying awareness posters. The posters will be displayed around the school to educate others about bullying and how they can help stop it.

7th Graders will create a public service announcement to inform their peers about their rights and responsibilities regarding sexual harassment and gender-based harassment.

8th Graders will develop a plan for challenging the factors they see around them that can enable bullying and harassment.
