What are we learning about this week?
Reading
Sequencing- Putting the events of a story in the order that they happened. We will talk about the transition words such as first, next, and finally that you can use to put the story in order. This is a continued lesson from last week that they will be wrapping up.
Procedural Texts: We will continue this skill alongside the skill of sequencing.
Writing
We have picked our "small moment" and we are ready to start writing. We will read examples of great personal narratives and ones that need improvement. The students will begin their way through the writing process and start to elaborate in their writing. We will also talk about what makes a good lead in our writing. How are we going to capture our reader's attention?
Math
Our unit math test will be on Tuesday, September 25!
We are continuing to explore multiplication using multiple strategies. We will work out word problems, write out equations and discuss how the math applies to our everyday lives.
Science
We wrapped our science unit last week with our "Our Place in Space" test. We will be putting the finishing touches on our performance task and starting our social studies unit.
