Irondale events update

An email update from Irondale High School

April 27, 2020

Hello families,

As you know, last week Governor Walz ordered the state’s public schools to remain closed for the remainder of the academic year. In addition, the Minnesota State High School League canceled the spring athletics season.

We are aware that these announcements will affect many end-of-the-year events for students, including graduation ceremonies. While we do not have answers or final plans in place right now, please know that our school leaders have already started to consider and plan for ways to honor our seniors, athletes and students. We will share our progress with families as soon as possible.

Additionally, for the last few weeks, Mounds View has been proud to participate in the #BeTheLightMN initiative and light up our stadium to honor our students in this unprecedented time away from school. As we begin to plan alternative ways to honor our students, we have decided to discontinue the #BeTheLightMN initiative and will no longer be lighting the stadium on Monday evenings.

We want to thank each member of our community who has joined us in person or virtually for these events. We will be in touch with future plans to honor our students soon.
