Football
Football is a very fun sport family and friends to play. It is a good workout. Football is a thing of preparing, rules, important positions, plays, fun facts, and players. Read this article first before you try and play.
Preparing
Pads
You need pads in football to keep from getting a severe injuries. However if you don’t wear pads that is dangerous, especially playing tackle. In fact it could lead to a concussion or broken bones. If you wear pads you can prevent yourself from getting hurt. If you wear them it will you get better at tackling because of the extra weight.
Food & Water
You need food and water to stay hydrated and active. If you don’t have water you won’t stay hydrated and maybe or possibly pass out and not be able to play. If you don’t have food you won’t be active and might be slower than the others, you don’t want that to happen. But don’t have too much because you will get cramps, have stomach ache, and maybe even barf. Then you would have to sit out because of being sick.
Rules
Flags
You need flags and penalties so the game is played fairly. Flags are good for if you do something wrong you don’t do it over and over and over again. Also if you don’t do something right the referees will give the other something good so the game is played fairly. If there are not flags there would be fighting and everything would go completely wrong. The referees would not know what to do while the teams were fighting.
Rules
Here are the basic 3 rules of football but not all rules. 1. One rule is if you are on defense don’t touch the wide receiver the quarter back is throwing to. 2. Don’t be off sides because you have an easier chance of tackling and that would not be fair. 3. Don’t have 12 or more men on the field, because you are only supposed to have 11 on the field.
Downs
You need downs so one team doesn’t take up all the time in the game. To win the game you need to complete first, second and third downs to possibly score a touchdown or field goal although if you don’t complete the downs then you might set the other team up for a field goal or touchdown.
Important positions
Quarter Back
The quarter is important because it gets the ball moving correctly and is very important. The quarter back is the one that controls the ball. He/she comes up with the plays the team is going to do and hopefully complete. The quarter back can do anything to help their team, that is why they are important.
Running back
The running back is good for gaining a short or long amount of yards. The running back can be sneaky. They run for a good distances and bad distances. They can lose yards and gain yards. If they gain yards they can possibly set their team up for a touchdown or field goal. If they lose yards it could set the other team up for a field goal or touchdown.
Wide receiver
A wide receiver is good for long, short, and medium passes and gaining a long amount of yards. If you didn’t have a wide receiver there would be no passing involved in Football. Wide receivers are good for catching any kind of passes hopefully. They are good for converting third or fourth down. Also they will help your team get a touchdown. If you don’t have a wide receiver get one now.
Plays
Running
Running is just like a running back, it is good for gaining yards. Running is good for first and second downs. Good for being sneaky. Good for mostly short amount of yards if you need it. Also they can rush for touchdowns. They can also catch the ball then run. You need one because you can’t always have a quarter back and running back.
Passing
Passing is like a wide receiver it is good for gaining a lot of yards. Passing is throwing to a tight end, running back, and wide receiver. It is good for getting you closer to the end zone for a touchdown. If you don’t pass you have less of a chance of getting a touchdown.
