Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
January 14, 2021
Dear Parents,
Lord, in the midst of winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce, remind us of the warmth of your love. In the midst of winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early, remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
Here are a few school updates:
- As previously mentioned, in the event the school building is closed due to weather, school classes will still be held virtually. Below you will find two snow day virtual learning schedules, one for students in Grades K - 4 and one for students in Grades 5 - 8. Please look through each and reach out to me with any questions.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley
Principal

4th Annual "Day of Giving"
It is almost time for our 4th Annual “Day of Giving” during this year’s Catholic Schools Week. “Day of Giving is a vital fundraiser for Our Lady of Good Counsel School. The cost of tuition does not cover the cost of educating each child. Our school depends on the parish subsidizing a portion of that cost. In order to minimize that contribution, make necessary upgrades, and meet the operational budget, additional fundraising is necessary. The “Day of Giving” is one of three major fundraising events throughout the school year. This year’s fundraising efforts will be used to reduce the parish subsidy, meet the operational budget and the much needed replacement of the lunch tables in our school cafeteria. We are continually grateful for all of those who have contributed over the last three years. Thank you so much!!!
Our 24-hour donation event will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 2nd and run until 12 noon on Wednesday, February 3rd.
To view our donation page this year, please follow this link: https://factsmgtadmin.com/give/appeal/GOGFrcCvJ
Don’t want to donate online?! NO PROBLEM!!! Grab a red donation envelope in the back of church located at our “Day of Giving” themed bulletin board and drop off your donation at our School Office.
We thank you in advance and hope this will be the most successful “Day of Giving” yet!
