Bandwagon
This advertisement wants people to drink Gatorade like Michael Jordan so that you can be as good of an athlete like him. This persuasive technique is bandwagon because it makes you want to go out and buy Gatorade so that you can be just like Michael Jordan. The target audience is athletes mainly little kids because he's playing with a bunch of little kids. Another target audience is basketball players because that's what they were playing in the ad and that's what Michael Jordan plays in real life. The intended effect in this ad is to go out and drink Gatorade just like mike. This advertisement is effective because little kids want to be able to play like Michael Jordan so they think if they drink Gatorade they will be like mike.
Humor
The message from this advertisement is to make people want to drink an ice cold sun drop in the summer time The persuasive technique is humor because the the lady in the ad is dancing around town drinking a sun drop drink. The target audience for this ad is almost everybody that wants a cold drink on a hot day. Especially the people doing yoga on the beach when they are done they will want to drink an ice cold sun drop. The intended effect for this ad is to make people want to drink a sun drop drink when they are hot or thirsty. This is an effective ad because it make you laugh and want to try this product out. Another reason is because they made a sun drop drink look really cold and desirable on a hot summer day.
Individuality
The message in this advertisement is showing a handsome man on a motorcycle in the middle of a desert. This is showing freedom independence and adventure. The persuasive technique here is individuality because this ad is showing a man on his own in the middle of the desert not needing anybody else. The target audience for this ad is mainly men because it is a cologne for men and only has one man in this ad. The intended effect for this advertisement is to make men want to go out and buy this product so that they can feel free and adventurous. This ad is effective because it makes this cologne look rugged and dangerous which is what most men wants.
Name-calling
The message in this advertisement is to buy a phone from AT&T instead of Verizon because AT&T has better coverage than Verizon. The persuasive technique being employed here is name calling because he is saying mean things about Verizon to promote and show that AT&T would be a better company to go with. The target audience for this advertisement is anyone with a cellphone that uses a different company than AT&T because they are trying to persuade you to change to AT&T. The intended effect is to get you to use AT&T phone company instead of any other ones. This ad is not effective for me because my phone company is Verizon and I don't have any bad things to say about it.
Plain folks
The message in this advertisement is that coke is a simple drink that everybody likes. It brings you together so that you can enjoy it with your family. The persuasive technique being used here is plain folks because it's has a family laughing and having a good time together while drinking a coca cola. The target audience for this advertisement is anyone that likes to have a good time with their family and wants to enjoy a nice cold coca cola. The intended effect in this advertisement is to make people want to get together with their families and have a good time drinking coca cola because that's what most people want, to come home to a family and have a good time. This advertisement is effective because it makes you want to get with your family and enjoy life like normal people.
Product comparison
The message in this advertisement is to upgrade your computer to the newer and better version of a laptop. It shows you all the new and different aspects the surface pro 3 has to offer. The persuasive technique being used here is product comparison because it shows you a different version of a laptop compared to the surface pro 3 which are very different. The target audience for this advertisement is anybody that wants a new version of a laptop because it has many new qualities that are different from others. The intended effect of this ad is to get people to want the new surface pro 3 instead of any other laptop because of the new things it has to offer. This advertisement is effective because it shows you how cool and new the surface pro is and makes me want to save up and get it.
Purr words
The message in this advertisement is to make you want to buy this kind of gum because it will satisfy you. The persuasive technique that is being used is purr words because it produces positive thoughts by having the man in the commercial wanting to marry that piece of gum because it is just so good. The target audience in this advertisement is anyone who likes chewing gum and wants to feel the way this man feels when he first chews the gum. The intended effect in this ad is to make people want to go out and buy this product because they want to taste that kind of gum after they see this commercial. This advertisement is effective because they make the gum look desirable and really tasty.
Rewards
The message in this advertisement is to make you want to use this product so that you can lose weight and become healthy. The persuasive technique used here is rewards because it promises that you will lose weight and even gives you people that have used it and lost weight in a short amount of time. The target audience for this advertisement is mostly over weight people because it is a supplement for losing weight. The intended effect for this ad is to show you all these people that lose weight using hydroxycut hoping that you will want to buy this product thinking it will work. This advertisement isn't effective for me because I don't believe taking pills will help you lose weight. I think the best way of losing weight is to exercise and eating right.
Security
The message in this advertisement is to show people that there are thousands of inspirational accomplishments done with technology and how beneficial it is. The persuasive technique used here is security because it makes them feel safe from all the new improvements in technology. The target audience is anybody that can greatly benefit from the technology improvements over the past decade and how it is changing everyday. The intended effect in this ad is to make people want to open their eyes for new things because everything doesn't stay the same. This ad is effective because it makes me happy how the technology has helped this little boy and how is able to do all the things that you would think is impossible possible.
Slogan
The message in this advertisement is to use the phone company AT&T and help save the data. The persuasive technique used here is slogan because the spokesperson in this commercial uses a catchy phrase. The target audience for this advertisement is people that use AT&T so that they can help save data. The intended effect is to make people want to change phone companies from theirs to AT&T. This ad is not effective for me because it just really isn't that interesting to me and doesn't make me want to change to AT&T.
Celebrity endorsement
The message in this advertisement is people will look very attractive if you are wearing this brand of clothing. The persuasive technique used in this advertisement is celebrity endorsement because they use a celebrity to promote this product hoping it will make young girls want to buy it. The target audience would be young girls because that is the kind of clothes this brand makes and that's also around the age of the celebrity as well. The intended effect in this ad is to make young girls want to buy this product so you can feel and look great in their clothes. This ad is effective because the clothes they sell are very popular and in style.
Transfer
The message in this advertisement is that you can find friends anywhere even if they are total opposites it doesn't matter. The persuasive technique in this ad is emotional appeal because it shows a puppy and horse become friends. When the puppy is in trouble the horse is there to help which is very cute and heartwarming. The target audience in this advertisement is people that are old enough to drink beer and that there is more to beer than just getting drunk. The intended effect in this advertisement is to make people want to buy this product because they don't just want it to party. This advertisement isn't that effective for me because I'm not old enough to drink beer but it makes you happy how the horses were there to help the puppy in trouble.
