I am happy and sad to announce my plans to retire as the SkillsUSA Michigan state director this school year. SkillsUSA has been a big part of my life for 38 years and after much soul searching, it is time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life. I love SkillsUSA and I plan to be part of this organization for many years to come, just in a different capacity.

While we are still finalizing my retirement date with Eastern Michigan University (my actual employer), I hope to continue as the state director until April 30, 2020. In the meantime, SkillsUSA Michigan has started the process of hiring a new state director.

Please be assured that SkillsUSA Michigan and its members will be taken care of during this transition. My commitment to SkillsUSA Michigan has not changed and I look forward to this coming school year.

Thank you for all your support and dedication to SkillsUSA Michigan over the years. You are the backbone of the State Conference and I have every faith that will continue to support SkillsUSA Michigan. We could not run the state contests without you!

Being the SkillsUSA Michigan state director has been a labor of love for me and I have enjoyed every minute!
