Greeting Parents & Community Members

This week we continue with state-wide testing. Math testing will start tomorrow. It is very important that students come to school well rested and that they eat a good breakfast. Testing will be taking place the rest of this week and next followed by make-ups.

The following week we begin our end of year ASB activities. In order to participate in out of class activities and privileges, students must be in good academic standing and citizenship. Students may participate if they have the following grades: A,B, C, D and if they have the following citizenship grades: E, G, S, N. In addition, there are behavior qualifications and attendance qualifications. All students have been notified whether or not they meet these requirements. A letter has also been given to 8th graders and conditional contracts have been given to allow for students to bring up their grades before the Promotion Ceremony.

Parents, please help us provide a safe environment in front of the school during drop off in the morning. If you are dropping off, please pull all the way over to the side or drive forward until there is pace to pull over. Please do not double or triple park. The parking lot is reserved for visitors and staff only. If you are dropping your child off early, please note that supervision does begin until 7:40 and at 7:40, we expect all students to enter the front gate. In addition, all students should be picked up by 3:15 PM after school unless they are attending an after school program or Prime Time. Students are not permitted to exit campus and then return.

8th grade Promotion will take place on June 21st at 9:00. The ceremony usually lasts about an hour and you may take your child home early that day or they may walk back to school with staff. The location is at the Madison High School Football Field. The attire for students is dressy/casual. All family members are welcome! Your child must meet criteria in order to attend. Please see the criteria below.

There are many events happening in June- please make sure you see the dates and the iMIddle calendar. As you know, iMIddle does not send home paper fliers with students. All information is located on our calendar.

Donut be late to school!

Every six weeks our first period classes compete for a free donut party to celebrate no tardies for the entire class. Research suggests that students who are frequently tardy have lower GPAs, lower scores on standardized assessments, and lower graduation rates. Chronic tardiness in elementary and middle school is also linked to failure in high school. Please help us in making sure your child is not late to school. Students must be in their seat by 8:00 AM. We have another 4 classes to serve on Monday- way to go iMiddle students!

iCafe at iMiddle

The iCafe is open from 7:15-7:45 for students who need access to internet in our Library. Students can eat, read or catch up on homework in the morning. No RSVP is needed. We are encouraging all students who are at school early to read & eat breakfast in the morning. Don't forget, our healthy breakfast options are only $1.00 and if your child receives free and reduced lunch, breakfast is free! Our school was recently featured by the Hunger Coalition- you can read more here:

School Site Council

School Site Councils (SSC) provide oversight of the academic planning and budgeting process associated with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in order to meet the needs of all students. SSCs provide meaningful consultation with the principal to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and revision of the SPSA, including reviewing and analyzing data; consulting with advisory groups; evaluating programs and activities; and allocating the expenditure of funds available to the school through categorical programs.

SSC Meetings will be held the third Monday of every month starting at 4:15 PM in the Library.
