The Pacer Perspective
March 14-18
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Pacers, Parents, and Colleagues,
It’s good to be back in the school!
Today, I experienced yet another moment of pride as Principal of PCHS. I’m often tied up at lunch because I supervise the lunch hour weight training program. However, today I was heading into the weight room a few minutes late from a meeting, and I caught a glimpse of all the other activities happening simultaneously in the school. A student band was performing a concert for a large student audience in the Pacer Dome, dozens of students were playing badminton in the gym, and there was a loyal group of students lifting in the weight room. While outside the school, a number of our student athletes were traveling out of town with coaches and volunteers to compete in basketball zone playoffs. It really emphasized for me the many diverse opportunities available to our students, and highlighted once again the hard work and dedication of teachers and coaches to facilitate these activities.
On Thursday, March 17th staff are hosting a pancake breakfast for our students followed by out first whole school assembly in over 2 years.
A huge initiative of ours this year is to increase the number of parents participating in the Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) survey. Parents and guardians of grade 10 students, please take the time to fill out the AEA survey, as the deadline is March 25th. Remember, we want to have as many surveys completed as possible.
On Thursday evening, we held our first Parent Player Football meeting. I was quite happy with the turnout, and I would like to thank everyone who attended. Player registration will take place from Wednesday, March 16th through to Monday, March 21st. Any parents who were unable to attend the meeting but are interested in getting involved, I encourage you to drop by the school, or call or email me or Coach Aldred. In addition, I would like to acknowledge our first Pacer Football program sponsor, Lazer Limbing Ltd., and thank them for their very generous donation.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Vince Dikaitis
