On Friday, January 19, WHS musicians, Tyson Bernhardt, Nathaniel Kilps, and Melanie Vande Slunt participated in the University of Dubuque Honor Band. They were the only students selected from Wisconsin and joined talented musicians from Illinois and Iowa to prepare and perform a concert all in one day.
Selections from the concert included excerpts from Hector Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique” and “(not) Alone” by Randall Standridge.
A group of students traveled to Minocqua and Eagle River, WI to learn about natural resources through outdoor education and Careers in Environmental Science this past weekend.
Students visited the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua where they learned about Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education and birds of prey!
Students then continued to Eagle River where they stayed on campus at a natural resource school, Trees for Tomorrow (TFT), and participated in cross-country skiing, map and compass orienteering, survival skills, wildlife signs and tracking, lake ecology and radio telemetry.
