A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL HAUGE

Thank you for a great start to the school year, and a fantastic homecoming week. It has been great to see students having fun and making homecoming memories. We’ve seen talent in the variety show, enjoyed seeing our teams compete, and witnessed the unparalleled competition in PowderPuff and Ironman. Thank you to our student senate who put on a great week, and to our students who have handled all the festivities responsibly, respectfully and kind. We will end the week with our dance on Saturday from 7:00pm-10:30 pm

One predictable challenge that we continue to navigate is backpacks in the building. We are asking students to keep them in their locker during the day because we don’t have the space for backpacks in classrooms and other concerns. We will redirect students when we see them and would appreciate support from home as well.

Our students have done a great job with the changes to our cell phone policy, and we appreciate the parents support. Cell phone addiction is a societal problem, but in our building, we are establishing a culture that puts some reasonable limits on cell phone use, and we think that is healthy. We will continue to not allow cell phones in any classrooms, and not allowing them at middle school lunch.

SCHOOLOGY PARENT ACCESS

Hello Parents and Guardians,

ROCORI Middle and High School have created new Schoology Parent Access accounts for all families. We linked your Skyward Parent Access accounts to Schoology to help ease the process of creating and managing the accounts. Schoology Parent Access allows you to stay up to date with the curricular material of what your child is working on in their classes.

If you created a Schoology Parent Access account in the past you WILL have to complete this process again. Schoology Parent Access accounts were loaded from your email on file directly from Skyward, so an accurate email address is needed. If you are not able to access your Schoology Parent Access account make sure your contact information in Skyward is updated and accurate. If you had to update your contact information in Skyward you will need to wait overnight to access Schoology. If you are not able to login to Skyward you will need to contact the school office at (320) 685-8683.

Step-by-step directions in English, Spanish, and Somali can be found here.
