BPS Newsletter
Issue 22 - 21st February 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I have decided to go back to the traditional newsletter this week, in anticipation for the resumption of school, which will be Tuesday 25th February.
Firstly, I would like to thank all of the community for the continued support that you have shown during this difficult time, I think we have all learned a great deal during this process! I for one have further been made aware that strong relationships between the school and family are essential, and feel extremely proud to be associated with the British Primary Section and the wider Taipei European School community!
Secondly, I would like to thank all the teachers who have continued to work tirelessly during this period, not only in producing excellent on-line activities to compliment continual learning opportunities for all of our students, but also the rigorous nature that they have fed back to students, be it during normal school hours, or after. Further, again, I must applaud the community in supporting this process, which has been encapsulated in various images showcasing the online learning experience.
Finally, I would like to mention that feedback from the community is essential, particularly in the continual voyage of improvement. We have been analysing the surveys which have been sent out to ensure that we provide the best experience possible. I would like to share how key areas have been perceived by both parents and students.
Parents (108 responses)
My child's school provides access to online resources that supports and helps my child to learn
Parents (108 responses)
Teachers have been available to answer my child's questions online in a timely manner
Students (256 responses)
How would you rate the overall experience of digital learning during this period?
1=Poor
3=Good
5=Excellent
As you can see, overall, in a difficult situation, the community has pulled together to ensure that this unforeseen disruption has been negated as far as possible. Without the commitment of everyone, this would not have been possible, I thank you all!
Best wishes, and have a restful weekend
Luke Chaeter
Feedback
We have endeavoured to respond to feedback within the British Primary Section to ensure that learning continues. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained, I would like to share a comment from our parent survey, which perfectly captures the current feeling! Again, many thanks for your support!
