Howbert Happenings
April 12-16
✅COVID Reminders❌
We need your help in order to keep school open and classes out of quarantine! Please keep checking each day to make sure that your child is okay to come to school...
- Check each morning to make sure that they don't have any symptoms (fever, loss of taste or smell, congestion, cough, etc).
- If anybody who has been in contact with your child is being tested or has tested positive for COVID please call us before bringing your child to school.
- When in doubt, call us! We are happy to help determine if your child is okay to come to school. Our goal is always to have every kiddo here EVERY day 😊
- Check the 'At Home Symptom Screening' below for more considerations.
Lastly, we want to thank all of our Howbert Families! Our success in keeping classes in session this year is a testament to the diligence and thoughtfulness that our community has had. We couldn't do any of this without YOU!
Howbert Huddle Family Night
Here is the information for the next Howbert Huddle...
You're invited to a virtual Family Night Thursday evening, April 15th at 5:30pm. You will get to:
- Chat with our principals
- Check out happenings & events around the school
- Meet some Howbert teachers
- Take part in a Q & A session
The Huddle will be a casual, open house style meeting--come when you can, leave when you need. We would love to see you there!
Follow THIS LINK to attend the meeting. It may be easiest if you can log on from from your child's D11 iPad or Chromebook. If it asks for a password it is howbert
Testing for 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades
Dear parents or guardians of 3rd, 4th, or 5th graders,
The state of Colorado is conducting modified state testing this year for grades 3, 4, and 5. Each grade level will take on one set of tests. Third graders will take English Language Arts, 4th graders will take Math, and 5th graders will also take English Language Arts.
This state testing is only for in-person students. Remote students WILL NOT test. If your child is a remote learner, your child’s teacher will be contacting you about the expectations for remote learners during testing.
Howbert Elementary will be testing for all grades, 3rd-5th, on Tuesday, April 20th, Thursday, April 22nd, and Friday, April 23rd. All tests will be completed by lunchtime. If you have any doctor’s appointments, please make sure they are scheduled in the afternoons on these days. Make ups will be the week of April 26th.
It will be extremely helpful if you would make sure your child has a good night’s sleep the night before and a good breakfast in the morning.
Also, please make sure your child’s Chromebook is brought to school fully charged.
If you have ANY questions, please contact Cyndy Tatum, Student Assessment Coordinator for Howbert at: Cynthia.tatum@d11.org or 719.210.4400.
Thank you,
Cyndy Tatum, Teacher and Learning Coach
