FLEX Options for Grade 1 to Grade 4 Students
Our first scheduled flex session will run on Fridays - Block 8 & 9 (1:30 to 2:40 pm). Sessions on the following dates: Oct. 18th, 25th, and Nov. 1st and 8th.
Sessions will open for bookings on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at 12:00 NOON

Session availability is based on a first come first serve basis and are limited in numbers. We may be offering some of the same choices during other flex sessions throughout the year based on popularity.

Ukrainian Dancing Grade 1 & 2
Dinosaur Detectives Gr 1 & 2
Painting for All Seasons Gr 1 & 2
Your child will have the opportunity to create an art piece that will explore all four seasons. They will paint each season on a separate canvas, then when they put them together they will connect a beautiful tree that changed through the seasons. They will get to take this project home in the end.
Coding with DOT & DASH Gr 3 & 4
Halloween and Remembrance Day Art and Baking 3 & 4
Positive Playground Leadership 3 & 4
All About Owls in the Boreal Forest Grade 3 & 4’s
Students will study the OWL’s role in an ecosystem. They will learn about different species of OWL's and their adaptations for survival. Students will dissect OWL Pellets and determine which Genus was consumed by the OWL.
We hope to have an OWL visit the students.
Making Music with Pitched Percussion Instruments 3 & 4
Your child will have the opportunity to explore the different Orff instruments within the music room. They will learn how to read music and apply this knowledge to an assignment instrument. Students will get to practice and perform a complex piece of music that will teach them how to play independently and with an ensemble.

It Is NOT too late to register your child to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation at OLPH this year!
Any parents who missed registration nights in September are invited to come to the church on Tuesday, October 15 at 7pm for a make-up session.
This orientation is for the parents, children do not need to attend.
Please bring a photocopy of your child’s baptism certificate.

Please write a note in your child's agenda if the child is having retakes or sibling pictures. Thank you
BEND THE RULES DAY SUPPORTS OUR SOCIAL JUSTICE PROJECT
All students are invited to Bend the Rules on Wednesday, October 16.
Each rule bent will cost the student $1.00 Students may choose from the following:
Chew gum
Wear a hat
Sit anywhere
Bring a fidget
Bring a stuffie
All money collected will be donated to Valeda House.
Valeda House. is associated with Catholic Social Services. Provides temporary, immediate housing for pregnant women and women with children under 12 months who are homeless or at risk of getting children apprehended.
