WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT

The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, June 16, that was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Public Access to BoardDocs.
Transportation Department
Kim Boix, director of transportation, provided the Board with the department's annual program evaluation.
District Security Update
John Schulte, assistant superintendent of administrative services, presented an overview of District security.

Lifesaving Efforts of Staff
Kudos to WSD staff members Jill Jennings Noble, Mandi Perez, and Erica Way for saving the lives of WSD children this year who were choking.
SkillsUSA National Qualifiers
Kaden Moore from Holt High School (CNC Milling), Cole Wolfe from Liberty High School (HVAC), and Alex Davis from Timberland High School (Residential Wiring) qualified for the SkillsUSA national competition. Read more.
Prairie View Elementary Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Paige Albertson assistant principal of Prairie View Elementary, effective July 1, 2022.
Dr. Albertson is a special education teacher at Discovery Elementary in the Orchard Farm School District where she has served for four years. Paige was nominated for Teacher of the Year in 2020-2021. Prior to joining the Orchard Farm School District, Dr. Albertson was a first-grade teacher in Black Jack, Mo., and was a third-grade teacher in Senatobia, Miss.
Holt High School Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Melissa Davis as assistant principal of Holt High School, effective July 1, 2022.
Davis is currently a chemistry teacher and Science Department chair in the Fox C6 School District where she has been for fourteen years. She has served as the teacher Leadership Alliance facilitator, a mentor, a member of the curriculum writing team, and has participated in the development of the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
North Point High School Assistant Principal
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of James Hieger as an assistant principal at North Point High School, effective July 1, 2022. He was named as an administrative intern for North Point High School in May, and will now be taking on the assistant principal role.
Director of Alternative Learning
The WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Jason Moore as the Director of Alternative Learning, effective July 1, 2022, at the June 1 Board Meeting.
Moore is in his fourth year as an assistant principal for the WSD. Prior to joining North Point High School this year as an assistant principal, he served as an assistant principal at Holt High School. He was a social studies teacher and a coach for sixteen years at Holt High School, and he was inducted into the Missouri Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2021.
