The Beginning

The Virginia Colony, also known as Jamestown, was first created by the British. The Virginia colony was established to give the British a claim to the land. It was also used as a trade market.

Location

The Virginia colony was located on the bank of the Jamestown river. The Jamestown River made it possible to trade easier with other colonies.

Religion, Government, and Trade

The religion of the Virginia colony was Christianity. Virginia had a Bicameral legislator. One side was called the House of Burgesses. The second part was called the Governors Council. The colony exported tobacco as their main product during the start of the colony. Later they traded slaves through the Virginia Company.
