Wow what a celebration we had last night! Thank you to everyone that put in all the hard work to make the evening a success. I also appreciated seeing everyone at the event, it is wonderful to have such a strong community which shows the pride for Lincoln School. See below or check out our Twitter account to see some photos from the evening event.
Tuesday, our current fifth grade students had their end of the year program. The afternoon started with lunch provided by our PTO. The program followed, with a song that they have been working on with Mrs. Beetstra from the musical Hamilton, also connected to a theme that has been carried throughout the year in fifth grade, "Not Going to Waste My Shot".
This day was also the Too Good For Drugs graduation. Officer Burden, Chief Keegan, and Judge Betsy Flood were guests at the graduation, helping to recognize all of the hard work our fifth graders have done over these past months with the TGFD program.
The next few weeks will be busy ones here in the Lincoln community. From picnics, field trips and special grade level events, the days will fly by. The culminating events will be our annual Talent Show and the Clap Out for our 5th graders at the end of the day on June 7th. It is hard to believe that our school year is coming to such a rapid finish! Please check the dates to remember above for various activities.
Also this week we will have our kindergarten kick off for incoming kindergarten students on Wednesday. We will have two sessions one in the morning and after school in the late afternoon. On Thursday morning at 8:00 am we will have our volunteer breakfast in the LRC, if you have volunteered in any way please feel welcome to attend.
Welcome introduction from our new Administrative Assistant--Debbie Fick
As many of you know Diane Eageny will transition to the Corron administrative assistant team. We have completed the hiring process and I am pleased to introduce Mrs. Debbie Fick as our new Lincoln Administrative Assistant. Below is a brief introduction and she will begin next Monday, May 20 and she will train and transition for the remainder of the year. Please welcome Debbie to Lincoln School.
Hello Lincoln families, my name is Debbie Fick and I am very excited to become a part of the Lincoln Elementary office staff. Something that I have in common with all the students here at Lincoln is that I too attended and graduated from Lincoln Elementary, however my school was in Palatine, IL. I'm the mother of 4 children and my youngest son and daughter are currently sophomores at St. Charles North High School. My oldest son plays baseball for his college in New Jersey and my other son just finished his freshman year at the University of Alabama. I'm an avid sports fan, and in addition to going to my son's baseball and daughter's softball games, I love the Chicago Cubs! Not too long ago, my children finally convinced me that it was time to have a puppy join our family, and they chose to name her Addison Clark (Addie). If there are any Cubs fans out there, you might be able to make the connection! I look forward to getting the chance to meet all the students and their families in the near future as well as assisting and supporting Principal Woodring and the teaching staff at Lincoln. See you soon!
