Technology Day
MacKinnon Students travel to MHRD to Participate in Tech Day
MacKinnon students were enthusiastically involved during our Tech day experience on 3/3/17 at Morris Knolls High School. High school G&T students assumed the role of instructor and leaders while the specialty teacher stood back and let the Gifted & Talented students instruct.
Some of the classes MacKinnon students were invited into were Woodworking, C.A.D./Engineering, Graphics/Photography, Family and Consumer Science, Robotics/Automation, Metals and Manufacturing Technology, Chorus room/Vocal performance studio, theater, and the Morris Knolls "Nest" - TV station.
While in the individual classes students had hands-on demonstrations such as screen printing, 3D printing, and on-air time in the news room.
Some quotes from 6th graders on the trip: "We were very lucky to be able to go on this trip and learn all about our possible future as a high school student." - Camila S. "One G&T student built a quad copter that actually worked! We got to see a video of the football field from the drone's point of view. I hope I can learn how to that!" Louis P.
Fun was had by all!
