Big picture

TEA, Dr. Nelson, and other district personnel will be visiting our campus this Tuesday, January 22 from approximately 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please dress for success and make sure you are wearing your ID badge. Make sure the area around/outside your room looks great.

The focus of the visit (we have been told) will be on early childhood, so PreK and Kinder classrooms may be visited along with Inspiracion. However, they could still visit other classrooms as well.

Reading PLCs

We will meet for Reading PLCs this week. Don't forget your student work samples!

NED Show

NED Show will be giving presentations to all students on Friday, January 25. Shows will be at 8:30 and 9:30 am in the cafeteria.

Because they will need to get in early to set up, and we will need clean floor for students to sit on, we will need to follow a revised breakfast routine (like we did for the HEB Buddy Program). Please see below for details:

Pre: Cafeteria; supervised by Arthur

Kinder: Cafeteria; supervised by Santoy

1st Grade: Breeding's Classroom; supervised by B. Alvarado & Burks

2nd Grade: Noel's Classroom; supervised by C. Martinez & G. Columbus

3rd Grade: Long's Classroom; supervised by Olivarez

4th Grade: Palmer's Classroom; supervised by Ross

5th Grade: Drake's Classroom; supervised by Coach O

Hallway Supervisors: Denton, Flores, Helton, Bernal

From Your Captain

We hope you will join us at our UIL Competition on Saturday, January 26 at University High School Cafeteria. We need volunteers to help supervise students and run our event/grade answer sheets. If you can give any time between 8:00-3:30 pm we would love to see you. Please email Mrs. Helton if you can help.

We will be giving Mock STAAR for Grade 5 Reading and Grade 4 Writing on Tuesday, January 29. We will be using the computer lab, library spaces, conference room, portables, and support staff to provide small group and oral administration for this test. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding involving any revised schedules or personnel changes that we may need to make to accommodate testing needs.

Alta Vista BINGO

We have created a BINGO game in the workroom for staff to play! Once you complete an item, just sign your name by the item on the giant BINGO board in the workroom. When you have a BINGO (5 in a row) let Mrs. Helton to know so you can choose a wonderful prize!
