RES' 2nd Grade Newsletter
Week 3: September 4th- September 11th, 2015
Teachers LOVE rule followers!
Please adhere to the procedures that we have put into place throughout our campus. They are set with your child's safety being the TOP priority :)
- If you are picking your child up in a car, please wait in the car line.
- If you do not have your child's car sign, you will be asked to go to the office and show your ID before we can release your child to you. (Check before you get in line!)
- If you are walking to pick up your child, please wait at the designated area.
These simple procedures will ensure effective and safe dismissal throughout the year. Thank you for your cooperation.

Calling ALL parents!!
It's time to renew your Ridgeview PTA Membership! Everything is digital this year, no forms or checks! One of our goals this year is to increase memberships of our dads! When you buy 2 PTA memberships, you will get a free adult shirt!
Here's how to do it... Go to: www.ptaridgeview.com Register for our new PTA portal and then selected "PTA Membership" under new forms. Make sure you follow the directions all the way through to check out. Thank you for your support of RES!
This year, the Ridgeview PTA is providing FREE spiritwear t-shirts to every RES student. The PTA wants to ensure that every student receives the right t-shrit size, so they are asking parents to create a free account at www.ptaridgeview.com. You will fill out your family information, directory and publish information and the "New Form" titled FREE Student T-shirt. It only takes a few minutes and we will use our spiritwear shirts for multiple events throughout the school year, such as field trips, field day and much more. If you have any questions about the website or the RES PTA, please contact Kristin at email@example.com and she will be happy to help you.

APEX FUN RUN
APEX FUN RUN COMING TO RIDGEVIEW ELEMENTARY IN SEPTEMBER 2015!
We are so excited to announce that our school will be participating again in the Apex Fun Run this year as our major fundraiser! The Apex program will be with our students from September 21st to October 2nd teaching leadership and fitness as we raise pledges to help our school. Please look in your child’s folder and for e-mails that will be sent to you from your teachers as the fun run gets nearer.
Please feel free to visit www.apexfunrun.com to learn about this interactive program that helps schools all over the country raise money, while promoting leadership and fitness. This year's character theme is Apex Dream Team, where students will join Johnny Dreamer and the Apex team in an exciting journey to learn what it means to become a Dream Team Leader:
Make A Difference!
During the Apex Fun Run, students are challenged to get pledges for the laps they will run on Fun Run day to help our school. Students will run for 30 minutes and will run an average 26-36 laps, with the maximum amount of laps being 36 (each lap is 1/16th of a mile). Sponsors can pledge $1/lap, $2/lap, $5/lap, or any other amount for students. All students will receive their own pledge kit with an individual access code that allows you to enter pledges online. All students will receive Apex wrist bands, Apex race-day jerseys, and team awards. We will need your help in the following four ways:
Help connect your child to potential sponsors and help them acquire pledges from family, friends and contacts.
Ask your child about the “Apex Dream Team” character lessons, and download the FREE “Apex Fun Run” App!
Come to the Apex Fun Run and don’t forget to invite others to attend our fun-filled community event.
Help volunteer for the race! We need a few parents to help cheer on students and mark laps. If you would like to volunteer for your student’s race, please contact Lianne Rice at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you again for your continued support of Ridgeview Elementary and we are excited to begin this journey with you!
