A NOTE FROM MRS. B
Hello!
Winter is in full swing and so are illnesses!!
One common illness we see yearly is Norovirus, better known as the stomach bug.
Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. It can affect all ages and due to there being many different types of noroviruses, people can get norovirus many times in their life (or even during the same year).
You can get norovirus from:
Having direct contact with an infected person
Consuming contaminated food or water
Touching contaminated surfaces and then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth
Symptoms of Norovirus: usually develops 12-48 hours after exposure
Diarrhea
Vomiting
Nausea
Stomach pain
Fever
Headache
Body aches
Preventing Norovirus:
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water (hand sanitizer does not work well against Norovirus) , especially after using the toilet or changing diapers, before eating, preparing, or handling food, or before giving yourself or someone else medicine
Handle and prepare food safely before eating; do not prepare food for others when you are sick and for at least 2 days after symptoms stop
Clean and disinfect surfaces, especially after someone vomits or has diarrhea. Use rubber or disposable gloves when disinfecting
Wash laundry thoroughly with detergent and hot water
Treating Norovirus: there is no specific medication to treat- antibiotics will not work
Drink plenty of liquids to replace fluid lost from vomiting and diarrhea to help prevent dehydration

6TH GRADE TOMB PROJECTS
5th Grade Visual Boards
Vision Board
By: Shayne Bongle
Our vision boards are lists of things we are going to try to accomplish this year. Some of the questions were “What are some of your academic goals?” and “What is something new you want to try?”. I think that this really brought out something in us that really made us want to accomplish our goals. Our vision board was a tree, we put pictures that describe us, they kind of went with the questions in a way. The thing that was different was that we also put pictures of our family and friends. Therefore, I think we should do the vision boards again.
