Coordinator's Corner

With the challenges we have faced due to COVID-19, we have found success by taking one day at a time. Recognizing our "easy wins" while reflecting on the challenges we face has helped us navigate this school year in one piece. In my role, my attention has quickly turned from the daily focus to the 2021-2022 school year. Registration is in full swing so creating awareness of MNCAPS to prospective students, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. Awareness of the work my staff has led this school year needs to take the front of the stage in this month's newsletter. Our students recently completed our mid-year survey and the data continues to support that our "customers" are very happy with the experience they are having at MNCAPS!

  • 95.1% of our students would recommend MNCAPS to a friend.
  • 98.4% of our students believe we are preparing them well for their future.
  • 81.4% of our students rated the relationships with their teachers as a 3 or a 4. (4 points scale, 1 indicating "limited relationship developed, 4 indicating "best possible relationship")
  • Our net promoter score is 44. (This is a customer loyalty metric used in industry. A score between 30-70 is considered "great".)

**184 of our 240 students completed our mid-year survey.**

The fluctuation between hybrid and distance learning has not phased my staff's resilience and their focus on relationships with students. It has absolutely changed HOW they work and WHAT they do on a daily basis but the WHY behind their work remains constant!. They understand WHO we serve and what needs they have in their personal and professional lives, and they understand how much our students need them right now! I love our students but my team inspires me day in and day out. If you have a minute, I invite you to send a note to your student's teachers to recognize their resilience, patience, creativity, dedication, flexibility, and passion! It's these notes that fuel their energy levels; which is much needed as we ramp up to tackle 2nd semester! (And survive this artic blast!)

Foundations of Business Project Sponsors

Foundation of Business Students worked with 10 different clients this past semester. Each team was provided a list of deliverables by the client and used surveys and market research to support their research driven recommendations in executing the requested deliverables. A HUGE shout out to all of our client partners who allowed these students to gain real world experience to enhance their learning experience and ultimately gain confidence in presenting to individuals not normally in their comfort zone.

BIZ MIX Project Sponsors

Thanks also to our BIZ MIX Project Sponsors. Our Biz Mix Students had to do a bit of cold-calling and recruit their sponsor.
