Principal Update
As we wrap up the first week of school, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff and supportive families for making this week a success. It has been truly wonderful to see the excitement and enthusiasm on our students' faces as they returned to the classrooms, ready to embark on a new journey this year. Together, we have built a warm and welcoming environment where our students feel safe, inspired, and motivated to learn. I am confident that the positive energy, visible joy, and collaborative spirit felt during this first week will set the tone for a fantastic school year ahead. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to the education and well-being of our children. Here's to a year filled with growth, discovery, and achievement!
Looking ahead to the rest of the school year, I am filled with anticipation. I hope each of our students flourish academically and personally, building lasting friendships and gaining knowledge and skills that will serve them throughout their lives. I know our staff will continue to inspire a love for learning and provide the guidance and support that our students need to thrive. Together, I hope we can create a vibrant and inclusive community where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. As partners in this educational journey, let us continue to work together closely, communicating openly, and sharing our dreams for the bright future we are helping to shape for our children. With dedication, resilience, and a shared commitment to excellence, I am confident that this school year will be one filled with achievements, joy, and continued growth for all.
With these hopes for the year in mind, our school theme for this year is:
Ongoing Reminders
- Morning arrival/dismissal: please do not park your car in the drop-off loop and then walk away. If you are in the loop, please remain in your car to move forward as traffic does, or please park in the regular parking lot.
- Please also only cross at crosswalks in the parking lot and on the street. We have so many cards driving around, it is really dangerous if students are running across the lot or street outside of the designated crossing areas!
- Bus riders: please continue to remind your child to carry their Zum pass to scan. We remind them as they get on the bus in the afternoon!
- Please label all your student's belongings! Backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, extra clothes, and more! This helps us return lost items to their owner rather than placing in the increasingly full lost and found!
- Please take the Family Information Survey linked here. We are asking that all families take this survey; it provides the district with vital information that impacts funding for various interventions and supports in our building.
- SPS has created a ThoughtExchange for the board to gather input on two options for the 2023 bond. The ThoughtExchange is open to staff, parents and other community members from Sept. 8 through Sept. 22.
- Want to play basketball in the winter? Any and all students can join a Hooptown Team, sign up here! We are the Ferris + Bryant Registration.
