Welcome to our first Weekly Update Newsletter of the year! I hope that, throughout the year, you find this to be a helpful tool to learn about news and events happening at Lawrence Brook School and in our community. Additionally, I encourage you to visit our school website, www.ebnet.org/lawrencebrook, as a resource, as well.

We have many exciting events to look forward to, including our Back to School Night this evening, the first PTA meeting on September 21, and a whole-school PTA hosted Ice Cream Social on Friday, 9/23.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT is scheduled for this Monday, September 12, 2022. Please note the following:

• Due to an ongoing construction project in the rear of the building, all parents and guardians will enter through the Main Entrance of the school. Doors will open at 5:45 PM to allow time for families to the classroom.

• Presentations will take place in your child’s classroom.
• Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade presentations are 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM
• Second, Third and Fourth Grade presentations are 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM

• Our Reading and Math Specialists will host a brief presentation at 6:45 PM in the Media Center followed by a 7:00 PM presentation hosted by our English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers.

• Please note: Back to School Night is an event for Parents and Guardians only.

• The PTA and 4th Grade Committee will be in the building to share information about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. You can also stop by their tables to become a PTA member, purchase Spirit Wear and Pencil Grams, and to participate in the Mums Sale.

• Representatives from the East Brunswick Education Foundation and East Brunswick Library will also be present!

Back to School Night

Surprise your child with a personalized message waiting at their desk! The PTA will be selling adorable pencil grams at Back to School Night for $1.00 - cash only please. See our video here. Spirit Wear will also be available to purchase for $10 a t-shirt.

Mums Sale

Fall is coming! Get your outdoors ready with beautiful 9” mum pots. See our flyer here. Mums will be sold September 12th at Back to School Night for LB families and open to the public on September 13th from 3:30-5pm. Cash or checks made out to LBS PTA. Limited availability. Sign up here to work the Mum sale.

The Brunswick Grove: Dine to Donate

Join us on September 20th at the Brunswick Grove for delicious food where 10% of all proceeds go back to the LBS PTA to provide fun and educational activities to the whole community. Dine in or pick up only. Not available with mobile delivery. Must present flyer.

We are looking for volunteers to be Room and Point Parents for their child’s class. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out our Class Parent Volunteer Form. For more information on these roles, please see the Volunteer page of our Welcome Packet.
