Random Acts of Kindness (RAK)
In an effort to create a culture of kindness, our school, along with hundreds of other schools across the nation will be participating in a Random Acts of Kindness Week (RAK) during the week of February 10th-14th. The week is devoted to doing as many acts of kindness as possible in and out of school. The purpose of this week long event is to foster an environment that values the importance of being kind all year round. Studies have shown that promoting kindness among youth promotes self-confidence, positivity, and increased happiness.
The week’s activities will include spirt days. Please see below for the spirit days. Students will also receive a checklist with acts of kindness to complete during the week. Please encourage your child to complete as many acts as possible. Checklists will need to be turned into homeroom teachers by Friday, February 14th. We will announce one class per grade level that had the most Random Acts of Kindness completed. We will also have a grand total for OPES.
We look forward to an exciting week and most importantly your child’s participation in The Kindness Challenge.

Welcome Mrs. Norcia!
Hi, my name is Renea Norcia and I am currently studying at Winthrop University in the Master of Education program to become a school counselor. I love helping children grow and learn, and I truly feel that this field is my passion. I graduated from Clemson University in December of 2018, and my husband and I currently live in Fort Mill. We love running and traveling in our free time. I'm so excited to be working with and learning from Mrs. Daniel at Orchard Park Elementary School this semester!
