Denmark Digest
March 2022
Happy March!
It is hard to believe that we are in the planning stages for next year. I want to thank all of your for your support for Freshman Festival as we showcased Denmark High School for our future students. We had many new families on our campus that day who are excited to be Danes next year.
Last week, the elective and waiver portal closed. We are processing over 2400 waivers. You will be able to see your child's selected courses for next year in the portal window of March 29 - April 1.
I have highlighted several programs in this newsletter, including DECA and Teaching as a Profession. None of these programs would exist without teacher support. Please consider nominating a teacher for the Teacher of the Month. The QR Code can be found at the bottom of this newsletter.
Next week we have professional develop days for teachers. Your students will have an Early Release on Thursday (3/10) and no school on Friday (3/11). On Thursday, we will run an abbreviated 7 period day. Please see graphic below.

Duck Dive for Education
Would you like the chance to win $10,000 and support your local school at the same time?
Adopt a Duck and Enter the Duck Dive for Education raffle for only $10!
A Duck Dive is a raffle. You "adopt" 1 rubber duck for $10. Each duck is numbered, and each adoption will be assigned a number. All the ducks are placed in a massive pond on April 1st at 1PM and one person "dives" in to select a $10,000 winner!
Watch youtube.com/user/ForsythCountySchools to see if you are the lucky duck!
This is our ONLY fundraiser for the Forsyth County Education Foundation, with 100% of all adoptions going directly to schools. This fall, we will meet more needs in our schools by providing grants. But we need your help by adopting a duck.
Ways to Adopt a Duck and Join the Raffle:
1. Submit the form attached with payment to your school by March 25th
2. Use mypaymentsplus.com, select Events and Activities, then FC Education Foundation Duck Dive
3. Via Paypal, select the Donate Now button here. Be sure to include your school’s name in the Notes section.
The deadline to adopt ducks is March 25th so join the raffle today!
For more information, please visit www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/duck. All duck adoptions are tax-deductible.
You could be the $10,000 lucky duck winner!

Important Reminders
Lockers for PE:
All students are encouraged to use the lockers to store valuables located in the locker rooms as they dress for PE.
Drop Off of Items / Deliveries:
Parents are NOT allowed to drop off any items for students, with the exception of prescription medication that is housed in our clinic.
Check Outs:
Check ins and check outs to school occur through our attendance office. Students are not permitted to simply leave campus; all students must go through the attendance office when leaving campus outside of their regular dismissal times. Please note, students are not permitted to check out after 3:15 PM.
Drop Off Before School / Pick Up After School:
Parents must drop off students in front of the main entrance both before and after school. This year, we ask that you arrive no earlier than 3:00 PM to pick up your student after school in the car rider line. During dismissal, if your child is not physically present when you arrive in the pickup line, you will be directed to circle back around the parking lot to keep traffic moving and minimize congestion.
Breakfast and Lunch Information:
All students will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day. These meals are provided through the Cares Act (COVID Relief Federal Package).
Payment:
We ask that all parents set up an account with MyPayments Plus if you have not already done so. We prefer online payment in lieu of cash whenever possible, including lunch accounts.
Student Parking:
We are fortunate to have ample parking on campus for all students who wish to drive to school. Detailed information about parking is available on the Parking Application webpage.
Transportation for students enrolled in FVA / GAVS Part Time, Dual Enrollment, and/or IE2:
Students who are enrolled in FVA / GAVS part-time, Dual Enrollment, and/or IE2, and come to Denmark HS for some of their classes, MUST enter the building through the front doors only. To ensure the safety and well-being of all Denmark HS students, we ask that all students in this situation arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of their first in-person class on Denmark’s campus.
