Dear Farnham Families,

We have had a wonderful week here at Farnham. Thank you to all of the families who showed up to our Back to School Night last week. The turnout was awesome! The connection between home and school is vital to ensuring your child’s success. Our two Third Grade classes taught our school the Three Personal Standards chant and our Farnham Cheer at our Friday Morning Assembly last week. All of the Farnham Falcons are learning the American Sign Language for "Solve Problems, Make Good Decisions, and Show Respect." Ask your child to teach you at home.

We also had a meeting with our Fourth and Fifth Grade Falcons to discuss the opportunities for Student Leadership at Farnham. There were over 70 students who showed up to the lunchtime meeting! These students are filling out a formal application and will be placed in various positions on our campus throughout the school year. Be sure to look for our morning greeters in the loops and listen for their voices over the intercom for the morning announcements. It is so exciting to see the enthusiasm of our students to make Farnham the best it can be.

Safety First! Please SLOW DOWN!

We must do our part to keep our special school community and its members safe. If you drop off or pick up by vehicle, please take extra precautions to drive through our neighborhood safely and know our pick-up and drop-off procedures. Many of our families or bike to and from school. Their safety depends on your adherence to safe speeds and driving regulations.

PLEASE Do Your Part:

• Make Complete Stops

• Watch for Bikers and Pedestrians

Farnham Committee Nominations

Farnham needs families willing to advise in developing our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) during the 23-24 school year. We are seeking additional family representatives on our School Site Council and English Learner Advisory Committee. Please consider participating or nominating another community member who will be a positive addition to these important teams. Many of you may have noticed that our lush lawn has turned brown. We have had a few issues with the irrigation backflow due to construction. Special parts have been ordered, and I will inform you as soon as repairs are complete. Soon after, you will see our amazing green fields back again.

We want to hear from you! Please participate in our first community ThoughtExchange. We are excited to partner with ThoughtExchange to engage and encourage our community into critical conversations impacting the education of our students. ThoughtExchange is an anonymous platform where participants can share their thoughts and rate the thoughts of others. This first exchange is for our community to become familiar with the tool. We will share the results in our next newsletter. We appreciate your participation.
