Outside of school, the practice requirement is the same as 5th grade, 90 minutes a week. In addition, all students receive one pull out lesson every six days. Lessons are in small groups and the times rotate. Currently the sixth grade has three performances: a fall program in November, a joint concert with the beginners in January and a spring concert in May

6th grade band registration

As we get closer to the end of the year, band members will need to make a decision about 6th grade band. They will receive a form to fill out and return to me. Our attrition rate from 5th to 6th grade has traditionally been very low, typically only about 5% of students decide not to continue in band at the middle school.

spring concert

I am excited for you to hear the older HMS students perform at our Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 5th at 6:00 pm. Your children will be in great hands!
