Weekly News & Information for Shelton View Families
A message from Ms. Thompson, SV Principal
I hope you all are enjoying the last days of summer break. I am thrilled to serve as your new Shelton View principal. I recently moved to WA and am enjoying exploring all the sites, recreation, and connecting with my family here!
This is my 27th year in education and my 9th as a school administrator. I know that quality relationships and connection with families make for a positive school experience for our students. I will be outside around the campus before and after school and look forward to meeting you.
Communication is a key factor in the school- home connection. You can expect a Shark Report Newsletter to be sent home weekly. Please be sure to read through these and make note of up coming dates, events, and important information.
The SV teachers and staff have been working hard to get everything ready for a fantastic 2022-2023 school year.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
~Ms. Thompson

NSD Nutrition information
The Northshore School District, like all others in the state, will again begin to charge for school lunch and breakfast at the start of 2022-23 school year. The Federal COVID-19 waivers that have allowed U.S. public schools to offer free breakfasts and lunches to all students regardless of income expired at the end of the 2021-22 school year. This means students who apply for benefits and qualify for free or reduced-priced meals will continue to receive meals at no charge in 2022-23, and students who do not apply for or qualify for benefits will be charged at the paid meal price for breakfast and lunch when participating.
Milk is included with breakfast and lunch or can be purchased separately for $.50. The cost of meals is subject to change annually. Click here to see the current meal price.
Click here for monthly menus. Please note: menus are subject to change based on availability of supplies, so please check the menus weekly.
You can pay for meals by adding money to your child's account online, or by sending cash or a check (made out to Northshore School District) to your school office. Please include your child's full name and teacher with the payment or fill out a Bank A Meal envelope, which can be found in the school office.

Bus Information
Important Kindergarten Bus Information:
- Please double-check your student’s bus information in E-Link before Monday in the event changes have been made.
- A parent or pre-authorized person must be at the bus stop or the driver will keep your student on the bus and take them back to their home school. You will need to pick your child up from the school in this event.
- All Kindergartners that are riding the bus must have 2022-2023 Kindergarten Release Form on file. This form is online under Transportation Forms, if you are not able to fill out this Google Doc, drivers will have some one hand, please ask for a form in the morning and turn it back into the driver that afternoon.
- Parents or authorized persons meeting the bus are encouraged to bring photo ID with them to the bus stop in the afternoon.
- Familiarize your student with the number and picture of the bus they will be riding. A list of bus numbers and associated pictures is available on the Transportation website.
- Kindergarteners need to wear the informational tag with their bus assignment the first three weeks of school, and then kept in their backpacks for the remainder of the school year. Please confirm the afternoon drop of location (daycare) is correct. Otherwise their assigned stop will be their home address. This tag will be given to your child at your WAKIDS meeting with the teacher.
- Buses may be running a little late as drivers and families get familiar with their routes and bus stops. We appreciate your patience
