The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
John Green does an immaculate job of creating a story that wraps around the reader's mind and intoxicates them with its entangling words. The Fault In Our Stars is a masterpiece created from a seemingly ordinary concept: two teenagers falling in love. In this book, not only do the characters fall in love with each other, but the reader becomes entranced with Agustus and Hazel for who they are. The combination of the lightheartedness of a teenager, yet remarkable brilliance of Hazel's young mind is a truly remarkable feat. These qualitites paired with Agustus' charm and wit only adds to the power of the book. The presence of tragedy in The Fault In Our Stars found in the midst of love makes my heart wrench and tears fall. The beautiful, yet harrowing story leaves a mark on the reader's heart that only seems to leave you wanting more.
- "My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations"
- "I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend"
- "You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices."
