Back to School- Coffee with the principal

Big picture
The Parent Club will host a Coffee with the principal in the upper yard right after drop-off on August 11th. We hope you can stop by, see friends you haven't seen all summer, meet Principal Fippin, learn more about how the parent club supports our school, and have a cup of coffee. See you then

Welcome back to School from Principal Fippin

Hello BCE Community

The first day of school is right around the corner, and I am beyond excited to introduce myself as the new Boulder Creek Elementary Principal and join the BCE community. The BCE community is remarkable, with teachers, students, and families welcoming me. I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope you are excited for this coming school year and are out this summer playing and reading tons of books with your family and friends. It is going to be a fun year learning together.

A little about me; I have been lucky enough to teach and have site admin experience and district office experience. I have most recently been the Program Director at PVUSD. On a personal note, I live with my family in Scotts Valley and have 2 children. You will likely see us on the soccer field or around town riding bikes. I am so excited to be back at the school site, where I can directly impact our students and families.

I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming weeks. I will join the parent club at the Back to School Coffee right after drop-off on the first day. I hope you can join us, and please introduce yourself. I have an open-door policy, so if you have any questions, please do let me know how I can be of support to you and your student. gfippin@slvusd.org

Welcome back to school. I know the new year will be Amazing.

Drop off and Pick Up

We are so excited to see everyone, and the first couple of weeks can be very busy in the parking lot. Please be patient with everyone while we learn and remember the parking lot rules. If you are dropping off or picking up, please remember not to leave your car if you are not parked in an assigned spot. There is no parent parking on campus, all parents need to park on the street and walk in. If you drop off at YMCA before 8, you may park in the bus zone for your quick drop-off. We do not have supervision for students before 8:10. Please do not leave your students before 8:10 unattended. Staff will be out and about to help and ensure everyone is safe.

COVID Update

COVID protocols will be much like last spring. While positive cases in our county have been on an upswing, we hope COVID becomes a more minor issue as we move forward with the school year.

Schools will again follow the guidance and direction of County Public Health and the County Office of Education.

There is no requirement regarding vaccination at school for students or staff.

If your student feels ill, please keep them home and get tested. Please look for more information in the Superientants back-to-school letter. More information to come, and thank you for being flexible and looking out for all of our health

However, adult volunteers working with students must be vaccinated for COVID. This only applies to someone working with or around students in a voluntary capacity. This applies to adults volunteering in a classroom, a field trip, a sporting event, or a school activity where students are present. This does not apply to adults coming as a parent or family member to a meeting with staff, as part of a parent club meeting, or as a guest to an event.
