Thank You To Our Veterans!

Veteran's Day 2020
Thank you to Mrs. Keck and our 4th graders for making this video for Veterans Day! All of of at CIS would like to thank you for your service!

Play It Safe! Program

Our school has partnered with The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan to offer child abuse prevention education to their students. The research based curriculum we facilitate in the classroom is called Play it Safe!. You can find more information and previews of the lessons at www.PlayitSafe.org. The CAC will be visiting Coloma Intermediate on Friday, Dec. 4th and Monday, Dec. 7th. If you have any concerns about the upcoming lesson, or do not want your child to participate, please contact Karra Hafer, Coloma Intermediate Principal at khafer@ccs.coloma.org, or Kelsey Nimtz, Coloma Intermediate School Social Worker at knimtz@ccs.coloma.org, so that we can make alternate arrangements. You may also contact the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan for more information.

Kindness and Compassion Drive 2020

In order to promote kindness and compassion within the school and community, specifically this holiday season, we are encouraging participation in a collaborative Kindness & Compassion Drive from Monday, November 23rd through Friday, December 4th. Items we will be collecting include:

  • NEW Unwrapped Toys will benefit the Mosaic Wonderland Toy Store, providing parents in financial crisis a way to shop for their children for Christmas. (See reverse side for a detailed shopping guide)

  • Canned Goods - Non-perishable food items and dry goods will be donated to Hope Resources (formerly known as the North Berrien Food Pantry) which is currently located at Coloma United Methodist Church.

  • New or Gently Used Winter Coats

  • Waterproff Winter Gear (waterproof snow gloves, snow boots, and snow pants) will benefit our students who are without weather appropriate snow gear.

Mask Reminder

We issued each child 2 masks on their first day of school this year. We have also provided additional masks as needed both cloth and paper. It is important that your child is bringing a mask every day just like their usual school supplies.
Cold and Flu Season

The cold and flu season is almost here! Please keep your student(s) home if they are not feeling well. The attached article gives some guidance on how to prevent the spread of germs. Please take a minute to read it.
