Our thoughts are with them...

To reiterate Mark's words in his SMORE this week. We send our thoughts to the French community in DC and across the world during this time of tragedy. If you or anyone in school is affected by these events please let us know to ensure we can support our community members in the most effective way.


Congratulations to the Chinese team for their delivery of two parent workshops over the past few weeks. The team welcomed good numbers of parents to each session and their engaging and relevant presentations left parents very happy.

Teacher Placement for 2016/17

Last week I sent out to all teaching staff and expression of interest form to be completed for the following year. With recruitment on our doorstep, planning is beginning for next year already. Thank you to the large number of staff who have completed the form already, can I ask those who have not to please do their best to complete this by tomorrow afternoon. I realise this is earlier than I first asked in the email, however I would be appreciative if this could be done.

There are no staff meetings this week. Please use this time for reporting purposes.

If teams wish to meet, that will be an individual decision by each team.

Visits happening this week:

David Whalley the new ESF Education Director will be visiting DC tomorrow and in particularly will be touring Primary some time around 1:20pm. Please make him feel welcomed.

Kowloon Junior School Staff will be visiting between 8:30am and 10:30am tomorrow. I will be taking them on a tour first and then allow them to wander between classrooms. Please make them feel welcome if they visit your classroom.

A few major events occurring:

Year 4 Top Sports Day

Tomorrow we have the DBIS and RCHK Year 4 students joining our students at DC for their annual sports day. As per Jason's email we will have numerous spaces out of action for the day. Please support Lawrence by ensuring that the areas remain free of all students except Year 4.

Year 5 & 6 Football Tournament

On Wednesday DC will be hosting a football tournament on the foreshore between 9am and 12:30pm. The foreshore will be out of action for the morning session only. More information will come out this week about the changes in duties.

Parent Session - Assessment and Reporting in the PYP

Thursday morning will see us host a parent workshop in the Diploma centre for parents.
