Waipawa School
Term 2, Week 2, 11 May 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Well this week has certainly given us a reminder that winter is on its way. With the cold weather, the school uniform always starts to look a bit different so just a reminder to please ensure your child wears the correct uniform to school. This week we are trying hard to have the children look after their belongings. The lost property at the end of break times is getting out of hand. Please name all gear so we can try and get it back to the owner.
Learning Conferences TONIGHT
The first learning conferences are scheduled for today. Because these are inside the classroom we encourage you to wear a mask.
Due to Mrs Drepaul's absence this week Room 5 children's conferences have been cancelled. These will be rescheduled when she returns.
Pink Shirt Day
Next Friday 20th May is Pink Shirt day https://www.pinkshirtday.org.nz/
This is a nationally recognised day where we encourage students to wear a pink shirt. Classes will be building up to pink shirt day by focussing on our school values and doing activities related to the theme of the week.

STARTING SCHOOL : 4 Year Old Mornings
- We find 4 visits before starting school is usually sufficient. However, if your child requires more we would be in close communication with you.
- Whanau are welcome to stay for the first visit and leave when the child / parent feels comfortable. Subsequent visits we ask that parents be brave and leave so that the child experiences what school is like.
- Please pack a snack for brainfood (fruit, sandwich, muesli bar) and something for morning tea.
- Children can wear mufti clothing or school uniform if they have it available.
Please don't hesitate to pop in and see us if you have any questions or concerns.
