Google For Education
Google Updates !! Make Your Life Easier
Overview
Below find some new features and tools that will help you organize your classroom, courses, increase collaboration and creativity in your classroom. I encourage you each to take a look at both and if I can be of assistance in helping you set up your google classroom or you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach and ASK!!!!!!
Locked Mode in Quizzes in Google Forms
Many have discussed the "cheating" online that goes on with many in their classroom when using our Chromebooks. No with lock mode we can manage our Chromebooks which will prevent students from navigating away from the quiz until they submit their answers.
Teacher Organization
Google has introduced a People page where you can find a unified place to manage students, co-teachers, guardians and a new settings page where you can add a class description, change the course code, and control overall Classroom settings.
Creation of Quizzes
This I feel like will be a game changer because you will be able to create and assign a Forms Quiz directly from Classroom - again, saving time and streamlining the assignment process. You will have the ability to create questions, grade by the question or by the student, auto checkbox, multiple choice questions, AND include the feedback to answers for a personalized learning experience. You will also be able to import grades from Quizzes right back into Classroom.
Teacher Center
If like me, you have that PIRATE mentality this will certainly become a favorite for you. Here you will find resources, certifications, and communities of educators. Most importantly you can search Google's library of resources to find exactly what you need when you need it.
New Lessons in Applied Digital Skills
Here, find video lessons designed to teach students the digital skills they will need for the future - research, resumes to name a couple - using google docs. Modular lessons are provided that you could use in one class period or across an entire semester and can be assigned directly from Google Classroom.
