Teen Science Cafe - Mission to the Moon - May 14
This event will be in person at the UVM Davis center from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sat, May 14 and it can count as a STEM lecture. Pizza and drinks will be served. Click here for more information and click here to register.

Spring Clean-Up Day at Indian Brook Park - May 21
On Saturday, May 21st, the Conservation & Trails Committee will hold the Annual Spring Clean-Up Day at Indian Brook Park from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, with a rain date of May 28th. This spring's clean-up will again involve removing invasive plants. Wear work gloves, sturdy shoes, and bug repellant. Bring shovels or loppers if you have them, other tools and water will be provided. Meet at the picnic area next to the middle parking lot (above the dam). NO ENTRY FEE FOR VOLUNTEERS. Tree planting along Indian Brook at Essex High School - May 23
STEM Academy students and local volunteers will be planting 100 trees along Indian Brook near the EHS parking lot on Mon, May 23 from 10:50 am to 2:30 pm. This is the culmination of the work done by the Watershed Workshop group this year, all STEM Academy students are welcome to join us. This will be a field trip, you will miss your 5/6 and 7/8 classes. I need to know if you are interested by Fri, May 6 so I can get the field trip form to you for your teachers to sign. You all received an email with a Google Form for sign-ups in on Monday, May 2.

STEM Senior Portfolios due Fri, May 27
ECHO Leahy Center looking for E-Team staff
ECHO Leahy Center’s E-Team program is for 9-12th grade students that are interested in science, teaching others, and learning new skills that will prepare them for the workforce. They are looking for students with an interest in STEM to help staff their hands-on engineering space and run activities in various science fields geared towards our young audience.
Benefits of this program include:
A stipend of $1000 to be paid out over the course of the school year
A membership to ECHO upon completion of the program
ECHO staff mentorship and letters of recommendation
Awareness of possible STEM careers.

Youth Environmental Summit looking for presenters
The Youth Environmental Summit (YES) is an annual event for students in grades 6-12 who want to learn about environmental issues and find ways to take action. This year’s Summit will take place at the Barre Civic Center on October 28, 2022 —Save the Date!
They are looking for workshop presenters on a variety of topics and ideas! Learn more here and submit a workshop proposal by June 1.
