Bluebonnet Elementary
First Grade
First grade students used the Engineer Design Process to build a monster that would stand on its own. They experimented with different ideas and made changes as needed to create their very own monster.
Second Grade
Third Grade
Third graders created their own paper climber out of simple materials and used the Engineering Design Process to improve on their design. Now they can’t wait to make more!

After reading the Greedy Triangle, students wrote their own lines.They created a plot using characters, setting, problem and solution. They made their puppets using different shapes and materialsand created a digital backdrop using the shapes.

Taking Shape
We had fun acting out a reader's theatre (play) based on the movie Encanto! We learned the elements of a play. Our next step is writing a play based on the story The Greedy Triangle.
Second Grade
Secret Lives of Public Spaces
It was time to create a park! The first step was brainstorming. With so many ideas going on in our head, we narrowed our ideas so we could focus on one type of park.
Third Grade
Building A Business: Games & Toys
Students were busy researching toy or game companies to find out who started the company and when, their history of how it all began, along with their mission statement, logo, and slogan. The next step is creating our own game companies.
Fourth Grade
Bridges
Squares or triangles? Which shape is stable, stiff, and can support a lot of weight? A triangle! Students learned how strong triangles are and the role that they play in truss bridges.

Second grade built a park or theme park and persuaded the public that their park was one of the best and a must see attraction. The structures had to be able to stand on their own and support weight. They could combine playground and nature or do a theme park.

5 and 6th graders took virtual field trips to Mexico City, China, France, Egypt, England, Italy and Scotland to observe and compare unique architectural features. Students discussed the importance of certain features to the area that they can be found in and the era of history.
