Tiger Tales
December 2, 2022
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We have officially launched our Attendance Counts Challenge at Thompson School! Each week the grade level with the highest attendance percentage will win the Golden Tiger Trophy. Each classroom at that grade level will display a trophy in their classroom for the entire week. Although we love to have your children at school, please know students should stay home if they are sick.
The winter months are quickly approaching along with the possibility of inclement weather conditions. Please remember to send your child(ren) with appropriate coats/jackets for recess and outdoor activities. Keep in mind, students go outside for recess unless the temperature/wind chill is 10ΒΊF or below. Information regarding the decision making for school closures can be found in the graphic below.
Kindest regards,
Sandy Allen, Principal
WINTER PARTIES
ECE-5th grade Winter Parties take place on Thursday, December 22nd at 1:45pm. Parents of AM ECE students will receive party information from the classroom teacher in a separate communique.
All parties must end by 2:30pm so we can clear out the bus parking lot for dismissal promptly at 2:55pm.
In addition to the District-approved Snack List, party treats are limited to peanut and tree nut free candies (Skittles, Starburst, Laffy Taffy, Tootsie Rolls, Twizzlers, Pixie sticks), fruits, veggies, and popcorn. All candy must be in the original package. Goodie bags that contain non-edible items are also allowed.
Only room parents may attend classroom parties. All volunteers must enter and exit the building through the main entrance and wear a visitor's pass at all times. In order to ensure a safe and orderly dismissal, we ask that room parents' children take their regular mode of transportation home on this very busy party day. Room parents are required to sign their student(s) out in the office if they choose to take their child(ren) home with them after the parties end. In addition, parent volunteers are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited.
Please notify your child's classroom teacher if you would prefer he/she does not participate in the class party. An alternative activity will be provided for those who do not participate.
