4-H Day at the Indiana State House
On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 200 4-H members across Indiana were at the Indiana State House. Four of those 4-H members represented Henry County and out of the four, two were from Blue River Valley Schools.
BRV Students that represented Henry County at 4-H Day:
Carolyn Hershman (8th Grade) and Evan Blackburn (8th Grade)
Things they did:
- Toured the State House
- Sat in on a session
- Met with Cory Criswell in his office
- Lieutenant Governor, Suzanne Crouch, spoke to all the 4-H participants
Thank you Carolyn and Evan for representing 4-H and BRV schools. We are proud of you for wanting to learn more and finding ways to help Henry County!
Updates and Reminders
- Sick Child at School - If your child gets sick or feels sick at school, please remind them that the protocol is to report to the nurse in the office first. She will document symptoms and then inform parents when their child needs to go home. It is important that we are consistent and following protocols. Thank you for your assistance with this.
- Car Riders Pick-Up Line - Students need to be picked up in the circle drive outside of the main entrance only (Door 1). Students are NOT permitted to walk across Viking Trail to get in cars parked at Irvin Park. This is a safety concern for our students as well as the drivers. Please help us by reminding your child and waiting patiently in the pick-up line.
- Attendance - Please make sure if your child will not be at school that you call the school and let us know their name and reason for absence. As a reminder, we are following the Attendance Policy outlined in our Student Handbook this year.
