PSJA Southwest ECHS Library
Volume 3. Go Javelinas!
The 1st Semester flew by!
I really enjoyed my first semester as a High School librarian. Thank you teachers, students, administration, school board and Javelina community for making me feel at home. I am so blessed to be working with my PSJA Southwest Javelina family. Ready for 2022! #JavelinaNation
The library program collaborates with regional libraries, institutions, and/or community partners to provide access to additional programs and resources for students and faculty.
The program includes opportunities for collaboration among members of the learning community and opportunities to help learners become independent users and producers of ideas and information. Principle 2. The librarian works collaboratively with students, teachers, and the community to promote local, state, and national reading initiatives that encourage learners to read, write, view, speak, and listen for understanding and enjoyment.
International Games Day!
International Games Week is an initiative to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games.
The library program actively provides an equitable, diverse, and open collection of digital and print resources, including open educational resources (OER), which support the academic and personal needs of students. Virtual library materials are available at point of need.

Javelina Book Club
The book club met in December for their last meeting of 2021. We had a surprise guest, former PSJA Southwest Librarian, Mrs. Letty Gonzalez and she brought donuts for the book club members. The students enjoyed talking to one another and catching up with their former librarian. The hot chocolate was an epic fail, but something to remember always. We had a great laugh after realizing it was burnt. The students who were present for the meeting were entered to win a prize.
Texas Library Standards: 5.4.0 The school library program is a central element of the school through its impact on student achievement, digital literacy, and school/culture.
