Monthly Core Value: Responsibility
Students are expected to follow our Core Values here at EBCA. February's Core Value is Responsibility.
Responsibility means being dependable, making good choices, and taking accountability for your actions. A responsible citizen looks out for the well being of others and understands we all have a part to play in making the world a better place.
For children, responsibility might look like getting themselves ready for school in the morning, helping with specific household chores, or helping care for a pet – in other words, age-appropriate tasks that contribute to the well-being of their family. To learn more, click here.

Attendance
We have seen an increase in tardies and that is unacceptable. We ask for your help to get your child to school on time. The flag salute on the blacktop is at 7:50 AM. One of the best lifelong habits you can teach your child is to be on time.
If you are late, it is hard to be great!
Don't Be Afraid to Be Great!
Classroom Celebrations Policy
Food or Balloons of any kind may not be dropped off at school for class birthday celebrations. The main reasons for this are healthy nutrition and we have several students with a variety of food and latex allergies that we must monitor.
We will limit classroom celebrations to that last 30 minutes of the day for the following days:
- October 31 - Halloween (when it falls during the week Monday-Friday)
- November 18 - Thanksgiving Break (last day before Thanksgiving break)
- December 16 - Winter Break (last day before winter break)
- February 14 - Valentine’s Day (when it falls during the week Monday-Friday)
- June 8 - last day of school
Keep in mind these are the only days allowed but grade levels will have the discretion to not participate if they feel it is a disruption to the learning process.

National School Counselor Week (02/06 - 02/10)
National School Counseling Week 2023 is Feb. 6-10, 2023, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. The 2023 theme is "School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big".
Meet our School Counselor, Ms. Sanchez by visiting EBCA's Wildcat Counseling Center.
The school counselor supports students throughout the school day. As student advocates, school counselors collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop a comprehensive counseling program that will assist in addressing students' social/emotional, academic, and college/career development while abiding by the ASCA national model. Please note school counselors do not provide "therapy" or "traditional counseling". Counseling taking place at school will be brief and solution-focused. Referrals for long-term counseling services are available if children need additional support.

It has been used extensively across the United States to educate students about geography as well as environmental issues.
