What Is Dried Fruit Processing
Dried fruit processing is the process of removing the moisture of the fruit. It can be removes by many methods such as; by the sun, or by using special dehydrators. The moisture of the fruit can vary between a small percentage (3-8%) to a medium percentage (16-18%) depending on what fruit it is. Some of the fruits that go through the process is apricots, plums, berries and grapes. They can be dried in many forms like in halves, slices or just the whole piece of fruit.The production of dried fruit processing takes place in most regions in the world. In America citizens consumed an average of one kilogram in the year 2006.
Freeze Drying Method
One method of drying the fruit is by freeze drying them. By doing this method the fruits retain most of its colour, flavour, shape and nutrients.
This method is the best choice for costumers who wants the dried fruit to be 100% natural and organic. Freeze drying is also the best choice because their is no additional ingredients added in the process.
