Confucianism and Taoism similarites
One similarity of Confucianism and Taoism is that their holy holiday that they celebrate are the same like the Chinese new year and ancestor day. Another similarity is that they both originated in china and both speak the language Mandarin and Cantonese. The next similarity of Confucianism and Taoism is that they follow other oriental religions. Taoism especially follows Confucianism and Confucianism follows Taoism
Confucianism and Taoism differences
- Taoism goals of religion is to be one with nature and Confucianism is to have a structured society. Another thing that different form Confucianism and Taoism is that the Taoism beliefs that the soul lives on after death and Confucianism believes that they are going to be worshipped by their descendants of their family. Confucianism believes in one god and Taoism believes in numerous deities.
What would a government founded on Confucian principles look like?
A government founded on Confucian principle would look like being a harmonious society.
How would a Chinese family be influenced by Confucian teachings?
A Chinese family could be influenced by Confucian teaching by the family being more loving and more respectful to each other and being peaceful. Confucian also believed in filial piety and that the duty of family members to the family and submissiveness to the head of the family. There are also five relationship of filial piety like father and son, elder and young, and husband and wife, older and younger, and ruler to subject. It basically saying to respect everyone.
Are Taoist principles relevant to the issues of everyday life today?
Taoist principles are still relevant to the issues of everyday life today. Some of the principles are the yin-yang and to be one with nature, and the golden rule.
How do the individual maxims of each philosophy connect form an entire way of thinking?
The individual maxium of each philosophy connect to each other to form an entire religion/way of thinking by sharing great wisdom to help other reach harmony.
