QUICK NOTES a.k.a LONG NOTES THIS WEEK
- FIELD DAY: The Field Day schedule is pretty tight. Only 15 minutes have been allotted for each station so groups need to keep track of time and head to their next station in a timely manner. I arranged the station rotations so that classes would be going in a circular pattern from one station to the next. For the group photo, your classes can be as creative as you wish. Will students be dressed up in a cowboy/cowgirl theme? Silly sunglasses? Fun hats? You choose. The group photos will be printed out after Field Day and each student will get one to keep. Yes, you may wear shorts for the Field Day activities. The temperature is supposed to be pretty hot!
- TALENT SHOW: The Talent Show is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. I would like classes to begin heading to the gym no later than 12:45 (upper elementary) and no later then 12:50 (lower elementary). We will be sitting on the bleachers and the floor and it helps to fill the bleachers from the top down. Classes that are participating in the talent show should sit at the bottom of the bleachers or on the floor. We will have a number of parents and guests joining us for the afternoon too.
- KICKBALL GAME: Sign up to play our annual staff vs. the kickball game on the whiteboard in the lounge. It will be a great game!
- LIBRARY PRESENTATION: I will not be creating an alternate specials schedule for Thursday's library presentation. The times only impact a couple of classes and for only a short amount of time. Special area teachers will need to take students to the gym if their regularly scheduled students are with them at the time of the library presentation.
- AWARDS: Thank you for signing your classroom awards so quickly! It has been a great help to both Lindsay and me as we prepare for the awards program. We will have hundreds and hundreds of awards to distribute that morning which is a great way to end the school year--celebrating our students! Each teacher will present their individual student awards during the program. Sponsors of clubs and teams will present their awards to their group members. I will then present the remaining awards.
