Raptor Visitor Management System
Silverdale Baptist Academy’s Crisis Management Team is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System beginning on September 16th. This new system is part of the Academy’s strategic safety plan for students, staff, and the community. As a digital safety solution, the Raptor system compares information to a sex offender database. No other data will be gathered with this system. This system provides yet another layer of safety for your child(ren).
Upon entering Silverdale, visitors/volunteers may be asked to present a valid government-issued ID, which will be scanned into the system. This will require all visitors/volunteers, including parents/grandparents, to bring a driver’s license, or other government-issued identification, into the front office when visiting. This scanning process is quick, easy, and user-friendly and our office staff will be able to assist you.
Just a reminder that you must first sign in at the front office before accessing the building. It should also be noted that, for privacy purposes, a copy of your ID is not maintained in the scanner, nor is it kept by the Academy. Once the ID has been scanned and entry is approved, the system will create a unique badge that identifies the visitor, date, and purpose of the visit. Visitors/Volunteers will be required to wear this badge to be allowed entrance to the Academy and to proceed to their destination.
A visitor’s badge will not be required for those who visit Silverdale simply to drop off an item in the office, pick up paperwork or check-in their student.
Silverdale Baptist Academy will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System at 7:30 a.m. on September 16th and welcomes your feedback after you have the opportunity to interact with the new system. The safety of students and staff is the highest priority at Silverdale.
Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and support of enhancing safety protocols within the Academy.

When to Stay Home with Sickness
A child may return to school ONLY when symptom-free for 24 hours (fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc.), or when the family physician notifies the school in writing that it is safe to do so.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE
From being there to take tuition payments or help direct your child to his or her classroom, the Advancement and Finance Departments are available every morning to help make your day just a little bit easier. There are members of each department in every lobby during morning carlines.
Do you have a tuition payment? Need to pay for lunch? Do you just need an encouraging word or maybe someone to pray over you because your morning was a little rough? We are here for you. Let us know how we can help. As Teddy Roosevelt once said, “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
PTF Parent Prayer Group
Come join us at the Parent Prayer Group every week on Tuesdays between 8:00am - 9:00am in the Atlee Room at the Shepherd's House. You are welcome to drop in for as long as you can. If you have small children, no problem. Please feel free to bring them!
This group will be praying specifically for our Academy, Staff, Faculty, students, and parents. This time is dedicated to encouragement and prayer. This ministry is coordinated through the PTF.
We are excited about this opportunity. Let us know if you have any questions.

EXCITING NEWS
Last year, we debuted the 'Silverdale Athletics' app (available for free download in Apple and Google). A few reminders of the benefits:
- You/ grandparents can view schedules, rosters, directions to game locations and get updated game cancellations that will come as an alert to your phone.
- Receive final score updates on the sports that you follow (open the app, select 'team alerts', toggle switch the teams that you want)
- View activities by a daily view or team view.
Please contact athletics if you have any questions. Go Seahawks!

JV-5:00; V-6:00
The High School Girls Volleyball team in conjunction with their pink out game will be collecting donations in morning carline Thursday, September 19th and Friday, September 20th. All money collected will go directly towards the MaryEllen Locher Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for children whose parents have battled breast cancer. Whether your spare pocket change or dollar bills, every little bit helps! This is a partnership we firmly believe in and have seen the benefits of these scholarships first-hand.
Thank you so much for your support!
